CHRISTMAS: Make the Exchange

Does anyone else feel like the devil is working overtime to try and distract us from the reason for the season, JESUS??  There have been so many opportunities lately for me to devote my emotions to things I don’t want them involved in.  Jesus came and promised us peace, joy, and love.  And all I have been tempted to do is to run around feeling stressed, worried, and annoyed.

Don’t fall for it.

Most of life’s problems, challenges, and worries—whether drama, trauma, or burdens—won’t be resolved overnight, and certainly not during the holidays. Take a moment to breathe. Let go of things that don’t require your involvement. Set down your troubles, and remember that Jesus came to bring us peace, joy, and love in the midst of it all. He came to carry the weight you’re holding onto, the same weight that’s wearing you down.

“For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 ESV

Exchange his peace for your worry.  His joy for your stress.  His love for your bitterness… you just have to choose to make the exchange.

Many of you will receive gifts over the holidays.  You will be first in line to exchange your gift for the right size, bigger or better model, different color, or something you just like better.  You can’t wait to get it right so you can use the gift you have been given.
How much more vital, eternal, and life-changing are the gifts Jesus offers you? Yet, we often let the enemy deceive, taunt, and lure us into disregarding and rejecting these priceless treasures.

Don’t let the enemy steal the joy, peace, and love that our Savior freely offers.

Take time to recognize the many blessings in your life and the people who care about you.

Focus on the goodness of Jesus, trusting Him with everything else, and as you do, you’ll find that nothing can take away the peace and joy He brings into your heart and home.

And don’t forget to eat the cookie, enjoy the Christmas carol, gaze at the twinkling lights, and love the crazy family Jesus put you in.

I love you! Merry Christmas, my beauties!!
