OH. MY. GOSH.  I am SO excited to be launching GoGirl.Life!! It has been months in the making and… it’s finally here!

About 2 years ago I had a super annoying conversation with one of my best friends and her husband.  They were telling me I needed to start writing, communicating, sharing some of the things the Lord has taught me over the years of being in ministry.  I literally laughed and argued with them, saying “I have nothing to say that has not already been said.  I don’t have a need to be heard.”  Then I forgot all about it.

This past year I began to sense GOD pushing me to do something to connect more with the women in our churches and to share with them practical things on relevant topics.  I was annoyed and just kept pushing it out of my mind.  There is so much useless content out there of people who just want to hear themselves talk. NO THANKS.  I am not joining that herd.

But the conviction to do something was growing.

Should I have another women’s meeting?   No.  More meetings weren’t the answer.  I travel too much and cannot keep up with more meetings.  More women’s events? Events are ALSO not the answer.

So, one day I blurted out to Rich, “I think I am going to start a blog…”.  I honestly was so embarrassed that I said it and immediately regretted it LOL!

He asked me what my plan was.  I said, “I just want to share things to help the women in our church go to another level. I want to write simple, short, biblical things that will empower them to grow in their lives. My plan is to publish one a week… and see if there is a need for it.”  He agreed.  And so… one day I sat down to write something.

My first blog was so much fun to write that I was shocked.  Words flowed out of my head and onto the page without even trying.  It was exciting!  I felt the Lord’s anointing and creativity as I went ahead with this challenge and as I began to write, I discovered God had a LOT to say through me.

Every day in my devotional time and in conversations, the Lord continues to give me new ideas for topics, scriptures, and reminds me of stories that will keep me busy for the rest of my life! I sat there blown away at how faithful God is.  I was convinced that I had nothing to share.  The Lord told me to do it anyway and when I finally did it, He gave me so many things to say.  WEIRD. Pretty sure that theme is in the Bible… a lot.

But what a humbling experience.  What if I did that more often?  What if I just chose to listen to the Lord regardless of what others thought, of what I THOUGHT, regardless of feeling ready or prepared… but just obeyed?  How much more could be done through me, and in me, if I would just obey God without the what-ifs?  You might think… DUH.  I know, I think ‘DUH’ too…. And yet I find myself continually questioning God and myself.  Time to change.

Rich and I are currently plotting and planning the second half of our lives.  Some of it is “top secret”, but ALL of it requires me to be able to JUST OBEY.  It requires me to live a life of faith, a life of prayer, a life of courage, and boldness.  All of it requires me to live a life of simplicity.  A life not attached to things, comforts, and self.  It requires me to get back to the basics in all areas.  What matters, and what doesn’t? Who matters, and who doesn’t?  It’s pretty freeing actually.  Just “livin’ on a prayer”… literally haha…

So, although I began this bloggy blog kicking and screaming, I am here today excited and ready for this challenge.  My prayer is that it challenges you to live a life set apart for the purposes of God, that it helps you resist the urge to conform to our culture and what the world is screaming at us, and that your personal walk with Jesus will grow.  I want you to live your life to the fullest and to bring your families and friends along with you.  I want you to thrive and discover how incredible God is, how much he loves you, and how much He can do with your life.  Let’s grow together!  Let’s not burn out, but let’s BURN UP for JESUS!!

GO GIRLS!! I am cheering for you!!

Love, Annie
